MEET THE OWNER
Juliana is the proud founder/owner of The Barre Effect. Her formal education includes a Master of Science in Food and Nutrition with Dietetics Concentration from Framingham State College and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sacred Heart University. She is a Registered Dietitian and possesses over a decade professional experience in the field of nutrition.
Raised in Worcester, Juliana has a long history of dance training that began at the age of four and continued throughout college. Growing up, she never realized just how important dance was in keeping her health and fitness in check as it never truly felt like “exercise”. However, once she reached her mid-20’s and basic exercise and running replaced most of her dancing, she sought to find alternative ways to stay in shape. Juliana eventually discovered Pilates and Barre and both were a natural fit. She loves how both methods include various dance elements that promote flexibility and toning in a fun group atmosphere and went on to pursue certification as an instructor.
Juliana believes in the saying "do more of what makes you happy"...and thus, The Barre Effect was born! Her vision was to create a wellness studio where people enjoy taking fitness classes and feel motivated to live a healthy lifestyle through balanced nutrition and physical activity. She has years of experience working in weight management research and knows what works and what doesn't. She doesn't believe in fad-diets and understands the confusion many people face when it comes to making sense of all-things-nutrition. Juliana appreciates any opportunity she gets to educate others on the many facets of healthy living and looks forward to sharing this with The Barre Effect community.
Juliana holds certifications as a Barre and Pilates Instructor through Balanced Body University and bootybarre®, as well as educated in the Barre Intensity® method. She has trained and taught at various studios throughout Western New York and Massachusetts and completed the Pilates Mentorship Program at Boston Body in 2015. She currently resides in Millbury with her husband, two daughters and Boston Terrier, Nina.
